Fall Fashion Inspiration {Even I can do}

I have a special guest here today.  Anya Sarre, a stylist with ShoeDazzle.  Anya asked to do a guest post on fall trends.  Since I'm so out of the loop when it comes to trends, I welcomed the inspiration.  Meet Anya, and then check out what I was inspired to put together on polyvore.

This Fall, Stand at Attention with Military-Inspired Jackets and Blazers

Ever notice that if you look good on the outside, you tend to feel great on the inside? That is the magic of fashion: it can help boost your confidence to a whole new level, and it will show! Whether you are relatively new to loving fashion or an old pro, there's always a new style to experiment with. It's always enriching to try something new and fresh, and you may discover you feel confident in a piece of clothing that you previously never would have thought to try! Fashion is all about taking risks and being cutting-edge! Don't be scared to wear something different than your usual style.

Jackets and blazers are always a fall must-have, and they tend to go through different style genres each fall. This season, military-inspired jackets are all the rage. They are filled with buckles, buttons, zippers, belts, and other exciting hardware pieces, which give your outfit a whole new dimension. Don't fret about not appearing feminine, as the jackets tend to be cropped short and have a girly structure. There's nothing better than looking like a decorated soldier who is on the verge of fashion greatness!

You can pair your jacket or blazer with a pencil skirt for a girly-girl look, or with a pair of dark skinny jeans for a more sexy appearance. Another hot look would be pairing your military jacket with black denim for a streamlined appearance, which would be great for the office. You can sport a simple tank underneath a blazer or jacket, or even a basic fitted t-shirt. For a more adventurous look, you can be daring and pair your jacket with a pretty blouse in a print that is complementary. Luckily, military jackets can easily be dressed up or down, depending on your mood and the setting.

As many military jackets and blazers are already adorned with buckles and other decorative hardware, you can keep things simple by adding a long, delicate necklace that is double-stranded. This adds softness to the jacket, and adds a nice touch. You can also forgo a necklace and add a scarf, tied in a fancy knot. Let's not forget shoes! A great addition to this look would be riding boots, which completes the military-inspired image. Luckily, since the military jackets are so versatile, you can easily wear flats or heels, too!

The great thing about jackets and blazers is that they allow you to feel confident and give you the ability to dress them up in a way that suits your personal style choice. There is nothing that makes you feel more in charge than a solid fitted jacket. By wearing fabulous fall fashions and adding your own personal touches, you will be turning heads in your directory.

As I got the post together, I read Anya's advice.  It seemed simple enough.  So I thought, let me go to polyvore and see what I can come up with.  I really wanted to find affordable pieces to share.  Some are and some aren't.  I always look at a trend, and then shop my favorite stores that offer affordable trends.  This is just an inspiration set, and I hope it inspires you.  I took a step out of my comfort zone and picked pieces that I knew I'd be comfortable in.  Even if I had to chase munchkins.

 This looks totally doable right?  Low heeled boot.  Floral shirt for some color. Easy hair that completely accommodates the fact that it hasn't been washed in 3 days and counting...

Thanks to Anya for taking the time to school this mama on some fall trends.
And thank you readers for indulging me.
